A little self introduction

Hi my name is JJ! I’m a little mix of chef, wife, holistic nutrition coach, and a writer. I put my yoga mat to good use, pedal my bike frequently, love fancy cocktails, attempt gardening every summer, get my hiking shoes dirty, cross country ski with my dog, buy in bulk, and do my best to keep Pachamama happy and healthy. When given the chance I spend the majority of my day cooking whatever calls to my taste buds. Usually something healthy, full of veggies, delicious and beautiful. Sometimes not so healthy comfort food and once in awhile something that hopefully just tastes better than it looks. .

Although I attended and graduated culinary as a omnivore, shortly after I dug into my vegetarian roots. I had always been a little picky about meat and found my self avoiding it. And well, I left it behind 10 years ago now. Along with changing my diet I have been drawn to learning about the environment, holistic nutrition, community, lifestyles, health and wellness. With many of my thoughts being consumed by these topics, I’ve decided to start sharing them with you.

In May of 2022, my husband, Shane, and I decided to take ourselves on a big adventure. We moved ourselves and two deaf dogs to the beautiful beaches of Nicaragua. We now own and operate a small cafe in a happy little community. We appreciate the slower, more simple pace of life here and have been enjoying the sun and warmth.
